Shots:

1.  putting a large silver hook on the wall

2.  taking hook off, grabbing wall mount with left hand, pulling down on tab with right hand, remove wall mount, run right hand over surface

3. pulling down on tab

4.  same as 2 but different angle

5.  hanging 5 lb weight from hook

6. dropping 5 lb weight onto hook

and did a few more similar shots…

#2 was HARD.  Friggin hard.  They said that the hand model that they used in LA could not do it.  She just didn’t have the tendon strength and was scared of the tab snapping her like a rubber band.  The girls the auditioned on Friday couldn’t do it and I was the only one that did it smoothly at the audition.   When we did it at the shoot, the first time I was sitting on an apple box and I couldn’t do it because of the angle.. I wasn’t able to get my shoulder strength behind it from that position.  I suggested that we move to me kneeling just under the hook so that I could put the strength of my entire arm behind it as opposed to just my wrist trying to pull the darn thing down.  It was a really hard shot to get and I was very glad when the props guy had trouble doing it while he was just trying to remove it.  The clients seemed really pleased at how quickly I got it..of course, the minor variations here and there..sometimes the tab pulled to the left and a few times the hook wasn’t straight up and down.  These are hard things to measure..  gotta be awares of all things at all times.

The last time we did #2, I got injured.  Yep..the finger that went behind the pull was right up against the wall for the entire pull down..about 15 inches..and to get the right grip and make a smooth pull I had to really rub my fingers down the wall..and on the last one…well, a big of the skin rubbed away..  anything to get the shot..ha ha..  the props guy..erk? (cutie) got me some neosporin and it cleared up fairly quickly.  A few people were amazed at my rapid healing powers.   I’m a little amazed too..though I think it might be one of those cuts that looks worse in a day..  sigh..  hopefully no work for the rest of this week.

The people on the shoot were awesome.   The props guy gave me a bag of the things!  Yah

Steven –cd –

Thanks for saying they had to see me and getting an additional day of casting for me and ellen.

It was an impossible situation for me to get to the casting for 3M and YOU made it POSSIBLE by having that 2nd audition!!!!!!!!!!!  THANK YOU so very much.  Because of that possibility, I had a great day on set with a fabulous group of people.  AND I learned in detail about the amazing Command Strip.  It has changed the way I think about hanging things   I appreciate your effort in getting me in for the audition.

I wanted to get my VO demo out to right away.  I am still working on my labeling which is why this is the ole sharpie standby version.  I’m hoping to have a complete package soon though I have had good fortune with the few sharpie standby versions that I’ve sent out.   The people at Hoodia found me via a link on the internet and booked me to record all the bits for their websites!!!

If you have time, I would love to hear what you think about my demo
